Flairck will perform at Festival de Olmué and Estadio Nacional
The return of the spoiled child with wings

For the second time the Chilean audience will enjoy the hybrid music; a mixture of massive, classic and experimental harmonies; the madness and balance; the modern and ancient. The responsibility is that of Flairck, the Dutch group that fits two categories for its name: wings and spoiled child.

The band (arrived on January 17th) will perform two concerts. The first one will be performed tonight at the Festival de Olmué. The second one is scheduled for next Wednesday (22nd) at 9:30 PM at the Court Central of Estadio Nacional in Santiago.

The chamber music influenced by folk and jazz - Flairck's main feature - will touch the audience when the band performs part of their current 'repertoire' with tracks of its productions The Parade, Live in Amsterdam and The Emigrant, among others.

Additionally, the Dutchmen will show part of their most recent work The Golden Age inspired by the journeys of the old ship Batavia, one of the ships of the United Company of the Eastern Indias, which conquered large lands around the world. The sailing environment and the less-saint behavior of its crew members will be narrated with the outstanding voice of Natalia Rogalsky.

In this stage of their artistic career, the Dutch music group provides an outstanding role to the human voice, which is combined with traditional music based on hand crafted ancient instruments.

The group performed in April last year and received a warm response from the audience. In November, Erik Visser - leader and main composer (who, at the moment to classify his music genre said that it is self-identity; "Flairck is just Flairck") - came back.

History

Flairck was born in 1978 in the Apple theatre company. That year the group released its first album, Variations on a Lady (Variaties op een Dame), which became platinum in Holland. This was the beginning of many television appearances all over Europe. Later came The Lady is back (Gevecht met de Engel) which won many awards.

Since then, the group has released 15 albums and performed many tours around the world.

In February 1989 Flairck received the Golden Harp award in Holland. The next year they celebrated their 12th Anniversary introducing the album Alive. In 1993 they introduced their new production The Parade.

The founder and artistic director of the group Erik Visser takes the determination - in 1994 - to include younger musicians such as Carla Veen (cello), Ben Van den Berg (accordion and piano) and Michel Grens (percussion).
